http://www.archive.org/details/gd1977-05-28.sbd.ashley-bertha.12827.sbeok.flac16

A recently uploaded Bertha SBD (I'd say crispy, but it's more Mama Cass than anything else) of a typical Spring 77 show. Donna doesn't seem out to harm little forest creatures here, which is always a plus. Is this show corpulent? Let's just say that it seems to have it's own gravitational pull and has several lesser shows orbiting it's sonic obesity, trailing shimmering contrails of trans-fatty happiness.

Good god, the Sugaree alone is a 22 minute journey best described as the Augustus Gloop of Sugaree's. Slap on the feed bag and cancel the liposuction.

Today is also the Founding Anniversary of the Serria Club, 1892. Do you think if they were to drain Hetch Hetchy on the 100 year anniversary of John Muir's death, they'd find Jimmy Hoffa ?

Maybe if they drain "Lake" Powell they'll find the Sierra Club's balls.

Ahhhhh, yes!

SDH--If I hadn't chosen 5/13/77 a couple weeks back to be the one and only show I gave an "anniversary" nod to this month, this Hartford show would have been it.

Thanks a ton for picking up the slack & pointing out a new SBD to drool over...the 2nd set of this show goes beyond "monster" into King Kong takes on Mothra and Godzilla in a steel cage death match territory...wake the kids, phone the neighbors, crank the volume, and get locked in.

Fantastic show.

10 Bonus Points for working Mothra into a post. 20 BP's are on the line for the first to fit the Smog Monster in.

Jerry lights into the Hartford '77 Sugaree like Godzilla power-slams Hedorah the Smog Monster.

This Playin' jam it too exquisite to be called something so crass as "chubby". Perhaps "big boned" will have to do.

buxom? like a fine warm bosom to lay one's head, pretty much sums up any show in May of 77 for me.

Indeed chubby is far too crass when describing sculpted beauty. I'm just havin fun with the word "chubby" and other silly hip words to describe remarkable shows.

But seriously what was it with the Hartford CC? Why the hell did this venue produce so many remarkable shows when the town itself was one of the more loathsome towns I ever experienced on tour? The only good thing I ever took with me from that place was awesome times INSIDE the venue, outside forget about it get me outta here!

Buxom? You may be on to something.

And as for Hartford, I'd have to agree with you.

Being the insurance capitol of the world would suck the life out of any city. I reckon Beezlebub has a summer home there.

Ah, there is nothing so exquisite as a well formed calf muscle...would I say that Twiggy-esque is not for me? Definitely. A full-figured girl, by all means.

So, though "cubby bass" is something I understand, the metaphorical connotation vis-a-vis the fairer sex is best left to those better than I at putting words to such things.

Too pretty to be chubby is a picture that makes some sense, my friend, but I find myself distracted from the matter at hand as a result.

Now, where's that inflatable Dire sent me?

OK, oftentimes NFA fails to really hit a home run for me. This one not only puts it out of the park, but puts it so far out that it successfully escapes the gravitational pull of the show. Hot damn. Jerry's jam goes places that I didn't know NFA could go. Well done.

Now, can anyone point me in the direction of my skull?

Indeed, this is "chubby" since that is the catch word of the site. I am listening to the NFA on Sirius right now. Very chubby

Chubby IS quite good. As long as it is used as an adjective (the show is chubby), and not a noun (the show was so good it gave me a -----).
